- Face your dragons. Tackle a problem or assignment you have been putting off; seek help and support from those around you.
- Limit your caffeine. Caffeine heightens blood pressure, and stops your adrenal glands from functioning at their best.
- Exercise. Help your body produce its own natural antidepressant known as endorphins by exercising at least three times each week (for 20 minutes each time).
- Eat a healthy diet. Dont skip meals. Check out our website to analyze your diet at /dining/menus.
- Avoid excessive alcohol use. Drinking too much can actually cause depression rather than relieve it.
- Get enough sleep. You need sleep to recharge and aid your body in the healing process.
- Treat yourself. Take time out for you, even if it is only ten minutes each day. Do something as simple as phoning a friend from high school, daydream, or find something that makes you laugh.
- Learn some relaxation techniques. Try yoga, biofeedback, or even a massage.
- Dont forget you! You are valuable, and you deserve to take good care of yourself!!
