Spring into Fitness and Fun in May
May is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month! And what better month to start an activity program? The flowers are in bloom, the weather is getting warmer, the trees and grass are green — everything is new and growing! This is the perfect time to start afresh by adding exercise to your daily routine.

According to the American College of Sports Medicine, you should aim to be active at a moderate level of intensity for 30 minutes on most (if not all) days. If 30 minutes every day seem like a lot, start with what you can do and work up. Keep a log of your progress to help motivate you while doing the physical activities you enjoy regularly.

Be sure to make your exercise focus health, not weight. Benefits of exercise include reduced risk of such chronic diseases as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer; in addition to weight control and reduced stress. So take a break from studying, and get out and move into spring!
