Meal Plans

We know life is demanding! Balancing classwork, jobs, hobbies, sports and a social life can be challenging. That’s why we believe in letting you choose a meal plan that best fits your busy lifestyle. We offer our residents in the Derby, Kramer, and Van Zile complexes three meal-plan options.

Studying on the opposite side of campus from your residence hall? No problem. All of the meal plans provide you with the convenience to dine at any of our locations. Due to the size of the facility, please preregister at Van Zile if you are a Derby or Kramer complex resident.

On-Campus Meal Plans

We offer Residence Hall students three meal plans. Students wishing to change their meal plan may do so once during the first three (3) weeks of each semester by completing a meal change form at the Pittman building.

Guest/Bonus Meal Information

Guest/bonus passes are complimentary meals credited to residents’ meal accounts. Residents may use two (2) bonus meals immediately.  The remaining guest/bonus meals for the 15 and 20-meal plans will be added to the account after the meal plan change date has passed. Unused passes will expire at the end of each semester, and cannot be carried over. Students who leave the residence hall before the end of the semester will forfeit any unused passes. Guest/bonus passes may be used by residents or their guest(s). Passes can be used at any meal except: Thanksgiving (November), Holiday (December), and Spring Dinner (April).

Contact the Housing and Dining Services cashier's office in Pittman building at 785-532-6543 for specific prorated amounts. The following information pertains to Derby, Kramer, and Van Zile complexes.

• 20-Meal Plan (6 guest/bonus meal passes) with Double Room
  One payment of $3,042 each semester.

• 15-Meal Plan (4 guest/bonus meal passes) with Double Room
  One payment of $3,002 each semester.

• 10-Meal Plan (2 guest/bonus meal pass) with Double Room
  One payment of $2,972 each semester.

Payment options are available for each plan.

 

Off-Campus Meal Plan Program

Housing & Dining Services does not purchase or prepare foods for special diet requests from students with off-campus meal plans.  Before purchasing a meal plan please review the menus to assure that any special needs can be accommodated with the published menus.

For the 2008-2009 academic year, K-State Housing and Dining Services Off-Campus Meal Plan Program offers four dining options in Derby and Kramer Dining Centers.

• Option 1 (Agreement)
  $510 each semester

  Five lunches in Kramer or Derby Dining Center
  Monday–Friday

• Option 2 (Agreement)
  $1,260 each semester (1 guest/bonus meal pass)

  Any ten meals per week in Kramer or Derby Dining Center
  Saturday–Friday

• Option 3 (Agreement)
  $1,285 each semester (2 guest/bonus meal passes)

  Any fifteen meals per week in Kramer or Derby Dining Center
  Saturday–Friday

• Option 4 (Agreement)
  $1,315 each semester (3 guest/bonus meal passes)

  Twenty meals per week in Kramer or Derby Dining Center
  Saturday–Friday

Guest/Bonus Meal Information

Guest/Bonus meals are available with the 10, 15, and 20 meal plans and are electronically added to each student's meal account. Meal plan participants may begin using their passes after week three of each semester.  An e-mail will be sent to participants to notify them when their bonus meals are available.  Unused passes expire at the end of each semester and no refunds are made for unused bonus meals.  If you cancel your meal plan, any unused bonus meals are forfeited.  These passes can be used at any meal except: Thanksgiving (November), Holiday (December), and Spring Dinner (March or April).

To sign up for an off-campus meal plan, click on the preferred agreement option above. Complete, print, and sign the appropriate agreement. Return agreement and your payment to:

If completing this agreement after the opening date, please contact Housing and Dining Services to have the prorated amount of the meal plan determined, BEFORE mailing or turning in your agreement.

Cancellation guidelines are as follows:

a. Failure to make payments.
b. Cancellations are at the discretion of the Associate Director of Housing and Dining Services.
c. Any use or conduct deemed inappropriate by Housing and Dining Services and/or K-State.


You may dine at either Derby Dining Center on the east side of campus or Kramer Dining Center on the west side.

Guests of hall residents may dine in the Dining Centers by paying cash at the cafeteria entrance.
