We know life is demanding! Balancing classwork, jobs, hobbies, sports and a social life can be challenging. That's why we believe in letting you choose a meal plan that best fits your busy lifestyle. We offer our residents in the Derby, Kramer, and Strong complexes three meal-plan options.

Studying on the opposite side of campus from your residence hall? No problem. All of the meal plans provide you with the convenience to dine at any of our locations. Due to the size of the facility, please preregister at Van Zile if you are a Derby or Kramer complex resident.

On-Campus Meal Plans

We offer residence hall students three meal plans. Students can increase the number of meals per week at any time throughout the year. Meals per week can be decreased once during the first three weeks of each semester (by September 12, 2011 and February 6, 2012) with the difference in charges to their account being prorated weekly. Students must complete a meal change form at Pittman building. Contact the Housing and Dining Services cashier's office in Pittman building at 785-532-6453 for cost information related to meal plan changes.

Guest/Bonus Meals

Bonus meal passes may be used by residents or their guests. Passes are added electronically to residents' meal accounts each semester. Residents may use two (2) bonus meals as soon as the semester begins. The remaining bonus meals for the 15- and 20-meal plans will be added to the account after the meal plan change date has passed. Unused passes will expire at the end of each semester, and cannot be carried over. No refunds are made for unused bonus meal passes. Students who leave the residence hall before the end of the semester will forfeit any unused passes. Passes can be used at any meal except: Thanksgiving dinner (November), Holiday dinner (December), and Spring dinner (March or April).

The following information pertains to Derby, Kramer, and Strong complexes.

• 20-Meal Plan (6 guest/bonus meal passes) with Double Room
  One payment of $3,599 each semester.

• 15-Meal Plan (4 guest/bonus meal passes) with Double Room
  One payment of $3,552 each semester.

• 10-Meal Plan (2 guest/bonus meal passes) with Double Room
  One payment of $3,520 each semester.

Amounts not initially paid in full will be charged to the student's university billing account and due as specified.

Jardine Apartments and Off-Campus Meal Plan

In order to utilize the dining centers you must have a valid K-State ID and follow university parking regulations. Housing and Dining Services does not purchase or prepare foods for special dietary needs with this meal plan. Before purchasing any of the options in this meal plan, review the menus to assure that any special needs can be accommodated within the published menus.

Rates have been established with consideration for the number of meals provided during the agreement period. There are times when meals are not served. See specific information on the Residence Hall Calendar at http://housing.k-state.edu/reshalls/faq.php.

For the 2011-2012 academic year, K-State Housing and Dining Services Jardine Apartments and Off-Campus Meal Plan offers five dining options in Derby and Kramer Dining Centers.

• Option 1 (Agreement)
  $554 each semester

  Five breakfasts/lunches per week in Kramer or Derby Dining Center
  Monday-Friday

• Option 2 (Agreement)
  $860 each semester

  Five dinners per week in Kramer or Derby Dining Center
  Monday-Friday

• Option 3 (Agreement)
  $1,439 each semester (1 guest/bonus meal pass)

  Any ten meals per week in Krameror Derby Dining Center
  Saturday-Friday

• Option 4 (Agreement)
  $1,470 each semester (2 guest/bonus meal passes)

  Any fifteen meals per week in Kramer or Derby Dining Center
  Saturday-Friday

• Option 5 (Agreement)
  $1,501 each semester (3 guest/bonus meal passes)

  Twenty meals per week in Kramer or Derby Dining Center
  Saturday-Friday

Guest/Bonus Meals

Bonus meal passes may be used by students or their guests. Each semester bonus meal passes with the 10-, 15- and 20-meal plans are added electronically to each student's meal account. Students may use one (1) pass immediately. The remaining bonus meal passes for the 15- and 20-meal plans will be added to the account after the meal plan change date has passed (fall semester – September 12, 2011 and spring semester – February 6, 2012). Unused passes expire at the end of each semester and cannot be carried over. No refunds are made for unused bonus meal passes. If you cancel your meal plan, any unused bonus meal passes are forfeited. These passes can be used at any meal except: Thanksgiving dinner (November), Holiday dinner (December) and Spring dinner (March or April).

If completing this agreement after the opening date, please contact Housing and Dining Services to have the prorated amount of the meal plan determined, BEFORE mailing or turning in your agreement.

Cancellation guidelines are as follows:

• If you cancel this agreement prior to the end of the semester, there is a $50.00 cancellation fee.
• You may cancel at the end of the fall semester without penalty by completing a cancellation form.
• Any use or conduct deemed inappropriate by Housing and Dining Services and/or K-State may result in cancellation of service for the remaining semester/academic year.
• If the service is terminated, the student is required to pay the remainder of this agreement.

Dining Options for Guests

Guests of hall residents may dine in the dining centers by paying cash at the cafeteria entrance. Guest tickets for special dinners must be purchased at least 24 hours in advance from the dining center secretary.
