Guest Housing
Let K-State Housing and Dining Services provide a "home away from home" when you visit our campus. We'll do everything in our power to make your stay enjoyable.
Summer
K-State Housing and Dining Services offers guest housing during the summer to individuals here for university-related business or a university event. Guests will be housed in Moore Hall. Please check in at the front desk. (Map)
All rooms are two-person residence hall rooms, with one community bathroom on each corridor. Single males and females are normally housed on separate corridors, with the exception that married couples and family members may share a room. If a male and female share a room, our practice is to place them on a female corridor, and the male will need to use the bathroom on a male corridor. Checkout time is 1 p.m.
Cost
Double room: $26 per person, per night
Single room: $34 per person, per night
Long-Term Rates
For a continuous stay of 14 days or longer, a room and board package is available at a reduced cost. A package includes a regular room, either double- or single-occupancy, and 20 meals per week. We have a chart of daily and weekly long-term rates for room and board. Please call us at 785-532-6368 to arrange a long-term package.
Amenities
The following items will be provided in your room: sheets, pillow, pillowcase, blanket, bath towel, hand towel, washcloth and plastic drinking cup. Towels and linens may be exchanged at the front desk. Please leave all provided items in the room when you check out.
Moore Hall has a kitchenette and television room in the basement lobby. There is a laundry facility in the basement. The charge to use washers and dryers is $1 per load. You may purchase a laundry use card at the front desk for $4. Unused value is not refunded. Liquid detergent is required in our washers.
Computers and Ethernet
Wireless: Access is available in our residence halls and dining centers. Temporary guests may connect to the KSU Guest limited wireless network. No wireless key or registration is required. Long-term residents who have an eID should connect to the K-State wireless network. Registration of the computer is required.
Web Browser Stations: These are located in residence hall lobbies. A K-State eID and password may be used for access. Those with no eID may request a username and password at the reception desk. This provides general Internet access.
Ethernet/Wired: You may get more information on an Ethernet (wired) connection from our residential networking office. Registration of the computer is required, as well as a K-State eID. An Ethernet connection allows e-mail, Internet and K-State network access.
Laser printing is available at the residence hall front desk for 5¢ per page; however, payment must be made via CatCash.

Parking
Residence hall parking lots are controlled by Parking Services, so we are unable to make arrangements for your parking. With a temporary permit, you may park in open areas of university lots, but you must avoid handicapped stalls, staff reserved sections and stalls, metered stalls, fire lanes, etc. Participants with a proper permit may park in general lots designated by letters D, GM, J, O, R, T, W and Z, excluding reserved and restricted stalls in these lots. Lots designated as Y lots are restricted.
Each vehicle parked in university lots must have a permit to park on campus from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, except for residence hall lots, which are patrolled 24 hours. Visitor permits can be purchased from K-State Parking Services for $5 per day, and $20 per week.
Online Reservations
Reservations may be made via our online registration form. Payment is due when you check in.
Payment
You have three options:
- Pay at the front desk of Moore Hall on arrival, by cash, check, American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa.
- If a university department or other organization will pay for your stay, please provide contact information as part of your online reservation.
- If you wish to arrange a 20-meal-per-week meal plan after your arrival, please visit the Guest Services office in Derby Dining Center between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The cost for three meals per day will be $18. (To request meals in advance, use the box on the online reservation labeled "Please specify any special housing arrangements, comments or questions.")
Refunds
If you check out earlier than expected, we will refund payment for nights not stayed. State accounting policies do not permit us to make an immediate cash refund. We can make credit card refunds. Other refunds will be made by a State of Kansas check, as soon as possible. We will confirm your address and contact information if a refund is needed. If the length of stay is uncertain, it may be best to pay only for those days you are certain to need, and extend your stay, if necessary.
Checkout
On your last day with us, please check out by returning your key to the reception desk by 1 p.m.
