
Housing and Dining Services is a self-sustaining auxiliary department with five functional areas: Business Operations, Facilities Management, Dining Services, Apartment Living, and Residence Life. The department serves 3600 students in 10 residence halls and nearly 1000 residents in apartment units. Residence hall options include co-ed and single gender halls with traditional, single, and suite style rooms. In Fall 2009, nine unique cluster community living options will be available to students in the areas of agriculture, architecture, engineering, business, leadership, community service, pre-health, honors and intensive study. Academic Resource Centers are available to students providing free academic support through tutoring, career counseling, leadership development and academic programming. The Jardine Apartment Complex is a dynamic multicultural environment providing a variety of living options for K-State students. In the fall of 2007, 14 new buildings were opened in the Jardine Apartment Complex providing additional housing options for undergraduate students, while continuing to serve student families, married and single graduate students, and non-traditional students affiliated with K-State. The Frith Community Center is located in the midst of the apartment units, and provides office space, a comfortable gathering place, and a programming facility for apartment residents.
