What to Bring

Use this list to begin thinking about what you may want to pack and bring with you for your best residence hall living experience. Be sure to communicate with your roommate(s) to coordinate who will be bringing larger items. See the What's Provided section for information about furniture and other items provided in each room for each student.

Kitchen Items

  • Small refrigerator (less than 5.0 cubic feet)
  • Microwave (provided to residents of Wefald, 1200 watts or less)
  • Small multi-purpose cooker (3.5 quarts or less)
  • Air fryer (to be used only in hall kitchen space)
  • Coffee maker
  • Electric kettle (great for ramen!)
  • Dishes and cutlery
  • Dish soap
  • Reusable water bottle

Laundry Items

  • Detergent (liquid, sheets or pods)
  • Fabric softener
  • Dryer sheets or wool balls
  • Laundry basket or hamper

Bathroom Items

  • Shower shoes
  • Storage caddy
  • Robe
  • Towel Set
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Body wash or soap

Study and Desk Items

  • Desk lamp
  • Surge protector/power strips
  • Phone and charger
  • Earbuds or headphones
  • General supplies, e.g. pens, pencils, scissors, tape

Sleep and Bed Items

  • Sheet set (Extra-long twin)
  • Pillow
  • Mattress topper
  • Bed shelf
  • Blanket

Room Decor

  • Mirror
  • Fan
  • Oil diffuser or candle warmer
  • Storage shelves or bins
  • White erase message board
  • Wall décor
  • Small tacks for drywall or Command Strips or other removable tapes for brick walls to hang things
  • Additional or lounge seating (desk chair provided)
  • Area rug
  • Curtain rod and curtains (for closet "doors")
  • A plant friend

Miscellaneous Items

  • Bike with lock and free campus registration
  • General cleaning materials
  • Trash bags (trash can and recycling bin provided)

What NOT to Bring

  • Candles or incense for burning
  • Air conditioners, space heaters, halogen lamps, or appliances with an open or closed heating element (except for coffee makers and flameless candle warmers)
  • Contact paper
  • Pets that have not been through pet approval process.
