Smurthwaite Alumni
Becoming a Smurthwaitian connects you to a long-lasting legacy of females committed to scholarship, leadership, service, friendship and equity. As soon as a member of Smurthwaite is no longer living in the house, they become part of the Smurthwaite Alumni group. Led by individuals who previously lived in Smurthwaite, this active group contributes to current needs of the house, attends activities throughout the year and hosts an alumni meeting once each semester. Cindy Ellis, Alumni President
Time in House: Fall 1984 to Spring 1988
The President leads biannual alumni meetings and coordinates the rest of the Alumni Executive Board as they complete duties.

Teresa Graham Snyder, Alumni Vice President
Time in House: Fall 1964 to Spring 1968
The Vice President serves as president in the absence of the President and coordinates the holiday gifts for current house members.

Anne Clark, Alumni Secretary
Time in House: Fall 1996 to Spring 2000
The Secretary oversees communication from the house to alumni, as well as keeping the database of past members.

Erma Riley, Alumni Treasurer
Time in House: Fall 1962 to Spring 1966
The Treasurer monitors and tracks funds for the alumni group, which includes donations to the current house and its members. Erma is a retired elementary Spanish teacher, lives in Manhattan with her husband and does bookkeeping for their store. They have three children.

Kari Naylor, Alumni Scholarship Committee Chair
Time in House: Fall 1996 to Spring 1999
The Scholarship Committee Chair coordinates between the current Smurthwaite members and the Scholarship Committee to award as many scholarships as possible.

The Alumni Chair serves as the liaison between the Smurthwaite alumni and current members of the house, sharing updates through the Alumni Newsletter and sharing events alumni can attend.
