Feb. 16, 2024 -The Social Justice Alliance (SJA) is hosting “Social Justice Alliance Week” this week, Feb. 19-23. The following events are open to students, faculty, and staff.

Monday, Feb. 19

Let’s Talk about Narcan

4:30 – 5:30 p.m., K-State Student Union Big 12 Room-221

Join SJA and the Young Democratic Socialists of America (YDSA) for a Narcan Training and Overdose Prevention Seminar presented by Developing Caring Communities Committed to Action (DCCCA).

Tuesday, Feb. 20

Spectrum of Black Beauty Walkthrough

4 – 5 p.m., William T. Kemper Art Gallery in K-State Student Union

In honor of World Social Justice Day and the ASALH Black History Month theme of “African Americans & the Arts”, join SJA at SirIsrael Azariah King’s Spectrum of Black Beauty art exhibit. We will meet as a group at William T. Kemper Art Gallery.

Wednesday, Feb. 21

Advanced SAFE Zone Training with Dr. Brandon Haddock

4:30 – 5:30 p.m., Multicultural Student Lounge in Kramer

Instead of the SJA weekly meeting, Dr. Brandon Haddock from the Spectrum Center will conduct an advanced SAFE Zone Training!

Friday, Feb. 23

Virtual Racial Healing Circle

11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Zoom

SJA Book Club

6 – 7 p.m., Multicultural Student Lounge in Kramer

Hood Feminism by Mikki Kendall is SJA’s January/February pick and group members will be choosing the next book for March/April. Students, faculty, and staff are welcome to join this bi-weekly event!
