2023-2024 JP's Scholarship Recipients

April 28, 2023 – Housing and Dining Services has selected the 2023-2024 recipients of the JP’s Scholarship. Each student will be awarded $1,000 to offset academic expenses. The JP’s Scholarship is partially funded through cash tips in our restaurants. Servers are paid an hourly wage, so tips are not necessary. However, if you would like to show appreciation for great service, cash tips are accepted as a donation to the scholarship fund.

Quincey Ward – Student Cook USJP’s

I’m a sophomore studying biology with a minor in leadership studies on a Pre- human health track. My dream job is to be a physician’s assistant! My favorite food from JP's is probably the Caesar salad or the French fries.

Chipo Sekabanja – Student Bartender at USJP’s

I’m a sophomore studying Economics at Kansas State University. With economics I hope to do a job that integrates economics and data analytics so something like a Business Analyst. It’s hard to pick a favorite at JP’s but if I really had to go with one it would be the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich.

Lujan Lopez Zavala – Student Cook at JP’s Sports Grill

I’m a sophomore studying Psychology with a minor in Conflict Analysis and Trauma Studies, my goal is to become a social psychologist and be able to work with communities, and hopefully be able to make a positive impact as a professional. Finally, I would say that my favorite food at JP’s is the smoked Cuban sandwich with baked beans.

Tinashe Sekabanja – Student Cook and Service Staff at USJP’s

I'm a Sophomore at K-State. I am currently majoring in Statistics and Data Science with a minor in Computer Science. Upon graduation, I plan on becoming a data scientist. My favorite food at JP's would have to be the Smoked Cuban sandwich with a side Caesar salad!
