Housing and Dining Services is pleased to host the 2016 room decorating contest, Rank My Room!

If you think you have decorating skills, prove it! Enter your photo, get all your friends and family to vote for your room, and who knows? Maybe you'll be our new winner! Check out the below prize list from our sponsor, Pepsi, as well as the entry guidelines.

*Prizes are awarded to first, second, third, fourth and fifth place with winners choosing their prize based on ranking.

*Free laundry for a year is awarded as a card given to the winner and is the equivalent of two washes and two dries per week.

Entry Guidelines

You can start decorating your room now. You must email photos of your room to hdmktg@k-state.edu between Aug. 26 and Sept. 10. Photos will then be uploaded onto the K-State Housing and Dining Services Facebook page, and voting will be open Sept. 6 through Sept. 13. The five individuals who receive the most likes on their photo will be announced the winners on Sept. 14.

1. Decorate your room however you like.* You may have people in the photo, or no one at all. Remember to follow the policies outlined in the Jardine and Residence Hall handbooks.

2. Take a photo or create a collage of photos. If any photo violates K-State policy, the submission will not be posted and you will be barred from future submissions.

3. Fill out the Rank My Room entry form .

4. Email your photo to hdmktg@k-state.edu and make sure to like KStateHDS on Facebook. We won’t edit your photo in any way, so be sure to add filters or collage the pictures in the way you want them to appear in the contest. We’ll post your image at the beginning of the voting period.

5. Voting will be open from Sept. 6 through Sept. 13. At the beginning of the voting period, Sept. 6, KStateHDS will post all the submissions that have been received between Aug. 22 and Sept. 5.

6. “Likes” will be tallied at noon on Sept. 14. Only “likes” on the image that is posted on the KStateHDS page will be counted.

7. Above all, have fun and keep in mind that you want your friends and fellow K-State fans to like these photos, so get creative!

*Jardine residents: Only submit pictures of your decorated room, not your entire apartment.

Terms and Conditions

Please carefully review this information before getting started to avoid having your entry disqualified.

This contest is open to residents of Housing and Dining Services facilities who are 18 years of age or older.

Contestants may submit only one photo or one collage of photos; but any given room may have several contestants.

In the event of a dispute over the identity of a contestant, the authorized account holder of the email used to enter the contest will be considered the contestant.

K-State Housing and Dining Services is not responsible for any problems with your entry, including technical failures or incomplete, late or misdirected entries.

Entries must follow the Housing and Dining Services policies outlined in your residence hall or Jardine Apartments handbook.

Entries can be deleted without question at the discretion of Housing and Dining Services Marketing and Communications staff, even if the content isn't in direct violation of HDS policy. We reserve the right to disqualify any person tampering with the operation of the promotion or otherwise violating these rules.

Acceptance of a prize constitutes the winner's consent to the use of his/her name, likeness and generated content by K-State Housing and Dining Services for promotional or advertising purposes.

The contestant, by entering the contest, acknowledges that 1. Facebook is released from all claims held by the contestant; 2. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by or associated with Facebook; 3. The contestant is providing information to K-State Housing and Dining Services and not to Facebook.

Winners must respond to the email notification that their room was chosen within 48 hours or risk forfeiting their prize.
