Kramer Dining Center: Facility Design of the Month

June 6, 2017 — The June 2017 issue of Foodservice Equipment and Supplies magazine features the newly constructed Kramer Dining Center as its Facility Design of the Month.

The article, titled “Kramer Dining Center’s Home-Away-From-Home Experience,” showcases the dining center’s innovative, community-focused design. Architects, designers and representatives of K-State’s housing and dining services collaborated to create an environment that spotlights the department’s cutting-edge practices in the field of college and university food service. The team wanted those who enter Kramer to know it’s an ideal place not only to eat, but also to socialize, relax and study.

Mary Molt, associated director of housing and dining services and assistant professor of Food, Nutrition, Dietetics and Health, was quoted in the article saying “The hall supports Dining’s from-scratch production philosophy, placing an emphasis on quality food and service and providing an interactive environment in which the production and delivery of food at platforms allow students to see team members preparing food and customizing it to meet their needs.”
