John is the associate director of retail operations of Housing and Dining Services at K-State. He oversees the retail locations owned and operated by Housing and Dining Services on K-State's Manhattan campus.

John joined the K-State Housing and Dining department in the spring of 2016. He oversees all Housing and Dining Retail venues and event accommodations on campus. In addition to supervising the Meeting and Event accommodations office, John leads project development for new campus retail venues and initiatives. He directs a team of hospitality professionals working in conjunction with student employees to provide healthy, sustainable, and locally sourced foodservice options on campus. Through his role, he takes pride in developing local partnerships with area merchants, farmers and producers.

Brett first joined the Housing and Dining Services JP’s Sports Grill in 2011 as a student employee. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management from Kansas State University. Upon completion at K-State, he was hired on as the Operations Manager in 2013. As of 2021, Brett is the General and Catering Manager for JP’s Sports Grill, overseeing the Sports Grill, Cornerstone Café at Jardine and Catering at Housing and Dining Services

Kate joined K-State at the end of 2017 as GM of the new Gastropub. She oversees Restaurant operations, menu development, catering events and various in-house events including Kate in the Kitchen cooking classes.

Miguel PerezMiguel's Bio

Miguel joined the department in August,1998, as Van Zile Quik Cats part time manager. Miguel became the Quik Cats Convenience Stores Full time manager in 2000. He is responsible of managing all the convenience stores located in our dorms, the Rec Center, and Wefald Cornerstone Cafe. He makes sure that these operations provide the best possible service to the students living in the dorms and fulfills their needs during their stay in our facilities.

Chef Allan Ortiz, a native of Costa Rica, moved to Kansas in 2015. He joined the Department of Housing and Dining as an executive chef for Retail Operations. Chef Allan completed his master's degree in Foodservice and Lodging Management from Iowa State University and continues his education in Food Science at Kansas State University.
