Smurthwaite Leadership/Scholarship House

Residence hall life

Smurthwaite is an all-female hall that houses approximately 45 women on the east side of campus.

The house contains standard double and triple rooms, with community-style bathroom accommodations.

Smurthwaite residents must participate in leadership programming and maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Residents pay lower rates, but assume more responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the house (such as phone duty and cleaning).

A 12-meal meal plan is available exclusively to Smurthwaite residents. All meals are eaten at the dining centers, with the exception of one in-house meal per week. The meal plan is included in the semester housing rates, which is unique to Smurthwaite.

Residents participate in a wide variety of activities that emphasize education, diversity and community service.

The four pillars of Smurthwaite are friendship, leadership, service and scholarship.
