Jardine Apartments Move-In
Welcome Home!
The staff of K-State Housing and Dining Services is pleased to welcome you to the Jardine Community and your new home away from home!
Jardine Apartments Handbook and Calendar
The Jardine Apartments handbook includes important policies and procedures. Residents are responsible for adhering to the terms of the handbook. Each resident should review the Jardine Apartments Handbook in its entirety. The updated calendar with important dates is included in the handbook as well. The calendar is updated yearly in late June or early July.
Move-In Appointment
All residents must select a check-in appointment. Appointments are based on staff availability.
Your Evergy (the local electric company) account must be in the name of one apartment resident at the time of your check-in appointment.
All residents, including international students, may use the Evergy website to set up the account. Evergy advises there may be requests for additional information, which may slow the account creation process.
Please note: if you are arriving from an international location, you may be required to supply your visa or passport number to begin the service.
Wildcat ID Card
If you are a new K-State student, you will need a K-State ID card. You may order it online before your arrival or go to the K-State Student Union within a few days of your check-in appointment to collect the card. Please bring photo identification with you to pick up your new ID card.
Parking Permits
If you are bringing a car to campus, please order your K-State Parking Permit online at least one week before arrival. Your parking permit will be delivered to the Jardine Office in Building #8 (known as "The Tower") at 2008 Tunstall Circle, for you to pick up. Please contact Parking Services for questions about parking and permits.
Policies and Procedures
As part of the check-in process, residents are required to acknowledge they are aware of and know how to reference the Jardine Apartments Handbook. Jardine staff is happy to answer any questions you may have about Jardine Apartments Policies and Procedures.
Move-In Instructions
When arriving for your check-in appointment, please go directly to the Jardine Office in Building #8 (known as "The Tower") at 2008 Tunstall Circle. To best assist all of our residents, we ask only the student to come into the office to complete the check-in process.
Please complete all steps up to "check-in" prior to arrival. Failure to complete all steps beforehand will delay your move-in process. Items such as your Wildcat ID card, driver's license or other official photo ID, and a cell phone will be needed at the time of check-in.
Please note: the Jardine Office has limited moving supplies. We encourage residents to bring their own dollies and other moving supplies. Housing and Dining Services does not offer moving assistance but can connect you with local companies.
Upon check-in, residents will have the opportunity to record the physical status of their apartment. This may be found in the check-in link.
Apartment Temperatures
Some apartments are equipped with digital thermostats. Those with a digital thermostat can place it on the "cool" setting and set the air temperature within the Housing and Dining Services identified range.
Please note: appliances not supplied by Housing and Dining Services such as portable washing machines and self-installed air conditioners are not allowed.
Help Ensure a Safe Return to K-State
Each K-Stater has a role in illness mitigation. By taking simple steps to care for your yourself and those around you, you can do your part to support the university's efforts to begin — and maintain — an in-person semester. Specific actions you can take are:
- Wash your hands frequently and follow good hand hygiene practices.
- Follow physical distancing guidelines.
- Stay home as much as possible the two weeks before classes start.
- Know the symptoms of COVID-19 and self-monitor for them.
- Prepare a wellness kit with items such as hand sanitizer, a thermometer, bandages, fever reducers, cough drops, etc.
- Read K-State guidance and FAQ for returning to campuses .
For more information on a healthy and safe return to the university, watch for announcements shared through K-State Today and visit K-State's COVID-19 webpage.
