Current residents can begin selecting their room in January.
For the 2025 fall semester, the earliest CAT Community and Honors Housing room selection time is 3 p.m. on March 24 and the earliest general room selection is 3 p.m. on April 1.
Time slots for room selection are 3 to 5 p.m. every weekday beginning April 1. Groups of 35 students gain access every 15 minutes during that timeline.
We have over 1,000 students complete the contract that first day and it takes us multiple days to get them all in the system in order of contract date and time.
Yes! This is updated on an as-needed basis.
Some students rent storage units off-campus, but Housing and Dining Services does not manage storage services.
Yes, you might be looking at a room simultaneously as someone else. We suggest you reserve the room quickly and then go back to explore changing the room based on location on the wing, etc…
All residents clean their own rooms. If they are living on a floor with community or community-private bathrooms, the bathroom is cleaned by our housekeeping staff. In suite-style rooms, the residents are responsible for cleaning their bathrooms. Those suite bathrooms are cleaned during the winter break by housekeeping staff.
Tuition and room/meal plan charges will be due on the first day of classes each semester. If you need to register for a payment plan, please get in touch with the University Cashier's office.
Your WID (Wildcat ID) should be on the admissions letter you received from K-State. It is the nine-digit number that begins with 8. It can also be found on the K-State Connect website when you log in with your eID and password.
You can always log back into the Resident Portal to see which residence hall room and meal plan you selected, listed under "assignment information."
An example of this is you meet a person you don't currently room with but want to room together the following semester.
Yes, there is a room transfer request process from which you can request more information through your Resident Assistant after the first week of classes.
The university requires incoming Manhattan campus first-year students to live on campus during their first two semesters. K-State has implemented this residency requirement to contribute to student success.
Yes, our beds are made to be bunked or at various heights. All materials for lofting and bunking are provided in each room. You can watch our YouTube tutorial video for instructions on how to bunk or un-bunk a bed or submit a maintenance work order request through the Resident Portal for help with bunk beds and lofting.
There is one shared kitchen in each of the residence halls. In Wefald Hall, there is a shared kitchen on each floor.
